　　改编自文学名着《怒河》，导演安东尼．曼。杰勒比带着家人率领着一批蓬车队到西部拓荒，林．克伦尼是车队指挥，途中救下快要吊死的柯尔二人，得知原来他二人是边界区的抢匪改行．当天晚上柯尔帮助克伦尼击退来袭的印第安人，于是他们便同行，随车来到达波伦镇。在那里又结识了一名赌徒—崔．威尔森，在诱惑当前，柯尔本性难改，背叛了克伦尼抢夺一批补给品，于是三人之间发生一场惊险万分的生死战。本片的故事情节曲折，在描写柯尔的心理活动时，详尽清晰，刻划人物较仔细，三人展开生死战时的场面也十分精采。
